Identifying the application route
Turkish citizenship may be acquired through different legal routes. General acquisition, marriage, reacquisition and exceptional acquisition do not share identical conditions. Preparation begins with an assessment of the relevant legal basis.

- Information and supporting documents are reviewed.
- The requirements for documents issued abroad are examined.
- The application process and administrative decisions are assessed.
An individual assessment
Residence history, family ties and the basis of an application may have different legal implications. Submitting a file and acquiring citizenship are separate stages.
Marriage to a Turkish citizen or residence in Türkiye does not, by itself, confer Turkish citizenship.
